Abstract
The temperature of a single tubular heat exchanger needs to be controlled effectively. In the past, it has been controlled using IMC technique. The extension of the conventional IMC tuning technique has been successfully used to design a PID controller to control a heat exchanger system. It gives much better results than the conventional IMC.
