Abstract
This paper presents wide band concentric slotted ring shaped microstrip patch antenna. The antenna is designed on FR4 substrate of permittivity 4.4, tangent loss 0.02 and with thickness of substrate as 1.6 mm. The antenna showed linearly polarized behavior within resonating impedance bandwidth. The maximum gain and efficiency varied from -2 dB to 1.88 dB and from 80% to 92% respectively within an impedance bandwidth. The proposed antenna structure covers WLAN/WiMAX/Wifi frequency band. The antenna fractional bandwidth was observed to be 66.6% with centre frequency as 5.1 GHz. Keywords - Linear Polarization, Microstrip Patch, Wide-Band.
