Abstract |
This paper describe, how single phase induction motor work as single phase induction generator? Such generator may be commonly used in the remote rural area, where it is not possible to draw electricity from transmission line. This machine can be used to meet the local demand of remote area in the absence of grid. The system is suitable for microhydel power plant and wind energy system. The generator has two specially designed winding in quadrature and capacitor is connected across the main winding as well as auxiliary winding for excitation. Special features, advantages, theoretical concept and experimental analysis of the system are highlighted in this paper.
