Abstract
In this article, an effort is made to relate various optimization algorithms to evaluate its impacts on frequency constraint of a deregulated power system recreating the actual electricity market scheme. The sources of power production include non-reheat thermal power plants tuned by Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers. This system involves tuning the controller gains using Moth Flame Optimization (MFO), Ant Lion Optimization (ALO), and Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) to reduce the Integral Square Error (ISE). The effectiveness of this approach is analyzed in the context of a bilateral market structure, taking into account frequency deviations in both the area and tie-line power variations. The study provides a comprehensive comparison of the performance attributes of the system under these different optimization techniques, shedding light on the potential benefits of each method in mitigating frequency deviations and improving the stability of power systems.
