Abstract
The aim of this paper is to design a micro strip patch antenna as a Ground Penetrating Radar operating in the ISM band of 2.45 GHz with inset feeding. The proposed method focuses to optimize the performance by achieving the gain of 7.7dB,VSWR<2 by using a FR4 substrate of relative permittivity 2.2.This antenna is further embedded with a Tarang module to develop a hand held device to determine the chemical compositions in the soil. This antenna is designed using ANSOFT-HFSS and the results are presented. Keywords- FR4 Substrate, GPR, Inset Feeding, Micro-Strip Patch Antenna.
