Abstract
UPQC is the new name in the form of latest technology which includes not only the series APF but also the shunt APF. Both of these filters can operate at the same time. Due to this advantage UPQC helps in improving all the problems directly or indirectly related to the voltage and current. Some of the major problems for which this device is used to solve are the voltage sag/swell, flicker, etc. Simultaneously this device also helps in diminishing the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).In this paper the MATLAB simulation of a three phase UPQC in which the control systems used are the instantaneous power (p-q) and also the SRF theory. Keywords - Power Quality, Active Power Filter (APF), Voltage Sag, Voltage Swell And Current Harmonics, Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC), SRF, Series Transformer, PCC Etc.
