Abstract |
When the wind power is inject into the electric grid, its causes some affects to the power quality. In wind energy conversion system a dc wind generator converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy. The power quality measurements effects are the active power, reactive power, variation of voltage, flicker, harmonics, and electrical behavior of switching operations, voltage sag and swell. This system also causes the stability problems in power quality. By studying this paper the power quality problems are determined which occurs during installation of the wind turbine with grid. The grid connected wind energy generation system for the power quality improvement is simulated using SIMULINK power system blocked .This paper presents wind energy system to mitigate power quality issues. The without STATCOM control scheme for grid connected wind energy system is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK for the purpose to show power quality issues in power system. This simulation shows the results of Index Terms-Power Quality, Total harmonic Distortion (THD) and Wind Generating System.
