Abstract |
Paper gives overview about the sustainable metal working fluids working, advantages and disadvantages. Their implementation is also discussed along with their limitations. Further advanced research shows use of new fluids for cutting operations such as liquid nitrogen technology, supercritical carbon dioxide process and use of vegetable oil as coolants for cutting operations. These all can be employed as Minimum Quantity Lubrication Technique [M.Q.L.]. Its main aim is to eradicate the wastage and disposal of fluids and also to reduce the illness caused to workers along with the damage caused to environment. They are compressed in the form of liquid or gas in a compressor and then with the help of nozzle they are directly sprayed on the work piece.
