Abstract
Heat sinks are an important application in the present day. In electronic industries the discovery and innovation on heat sinks to remove the heat is accelerating and has led to the increase in power densities, which further leads to the innovation of compact smarter products. The tremendous growth in electronic industries faces a major technical challenge of maintaining the temperature with in operating limits. In recent days, there is a huge development in the field of passive heat transfer. Nano coating of heat sinks (passive heat transfer type) is the method which is most preferred because of the surface area effect. An attempt is made in this paper to summarize the various researches on coatings. The aim of this review paper is to study the heat transfer enhancement using different Nano material coatings. It is observed that the heat transfer enhancement is found to be better when metallic Nan particles are coated. Also it is observed that enhancement in heat transfer depends on Nan particles size, concentration and its orientation. Keywords - Heat Transfer Enhancement, Nano Fluids, Nan Particles, Thermal Coating.
