Abstract
The idea of using solar panels on the roof of an electric vehicle is proposed in this paper. Solar power used for transportation can solve the problem of green house emission. Photovoltaic technology is integrated with automobile technology. The solar cells will extend the driving range of an electric vehicle. The solar vehicle will be significantly powered by solar energy. The solar panel feasibility must be analyzed for the rainy season. This paper also covers the overview of charging stations and discussed the way that how to increase efficiency of electric vehicle near to 100 percent by implementing EVs solar power based charging stations. Also the vehicle charging objectives are discussed. Many countries are pledged to reduce gasoline as a fuel. Big metro cities are more interested in Electric Vehicles. The case study on financial capital of India, Mumbai about its recent data on all vehicles its growth rate available renewable energy and its utilization and initiatives taken by the governments is also covered by the authors. In this case study on Mumbai different factors are considered like location of Mumbai current status of road transportation based on cars per kilometer and road space availability, average solar radiation (KWh/m2) availability throughout the year, charging infrastructure by considering increasing rate of electric vehicle use and electricity demand requirement.
