Abstract
Pump consumes significant proportion of electrical energy. Small improvements in efficiency yields significant savings in terms of energy and enhances life of the pumps. Increase of pump efficiency by some percent, considering high driving capacities or big number of operating hours/year of the pumps results in significant energy saving. Since majority of the pumps installed in the Industries are centrifugal pumps, this paper presents the analysis done on centrifugal pumps installed in an Industry in which Energy Audit was conducted. The Analysis based on their operating conditions helps us to evaluate measures for performance improvement and energy saving potential that is expected after implementation of the corrective action necessary to restore the performance of the pumps. Keywords - Best Efficiency Point, Differential Pressure, Performance, Efficiency.
