Abstract
Spray characteristics such as spray cone angle, Sauter mean diameter (SMD) and spray tip penetration greatly influences the combustion and emission characteristics of diesel engines. The spray characteristics mainly depend on fuel viscosity, injection pressure and density of fuel and ambient pressure and temperature. This study focusses on the optimization of spray characteristics using multi response signal to noise ratio and the effect of injection pressure, chamber pressure and fuel blends in a constant volume chamber using image processing techniques on Diesel, POME and POME20. The main objective of this paper is to obtain the optimized value and main effect plots from the influencing factors using ANOVA. Keywords - Anova, Cone Angle, Spray Length, SMD, Injection Pressure, Chamber Pressure, Fuel Blend.
