Abstract |
This paper aims to explore the use of Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) as tool for lean product design and development. This research is to present an innovative way of using Lean Knowledge Life cycle (LKLC) to develop rules which can be used to support lean product design and development. This research will provide a methodology for identification of existing knowledge, knowledge capturing and knowledge sharing for product design and development for SMEs by using lean knowledge life cycle. Furthermore, these developed rules will be utilized along with other lean enablers for development of complete knowledge based engineering system to support lean product design and development.
