Abstract |
Abstract - The purpose of this research is to develop a transformable pivoting-head wheel. The transformable pivoting head wheel consists of several parts divided evenly around the circumference. When the parts are locked, they form around wheel shape, and when they are unlocked, each part can pivot around a pin joint passing near the center of gravity of pivoting-head part. The locking mechanism is designed to move without electric power such as motor. In this paper, weinvestigate the wheel size and the shape of the parts consisting the wheel to easily overcome steps and bumps up to 10 mm height. The design is evaluated by making a miniature transformable pivoting-head wheel. Keywords - Special Wheels, Running Over Steps. | |||||||||
