Abstract
Abstract - The requirement of the materials having high strength to weight ratio has been the prime focus of the present industries, especially automobile and aerospace industries. Thus, the materials research has continuously been shifted from composite materials to hybrid composite materials. The aim of this study is to fabricate the high-performance hybrid aluminium metal matrix composite by using stir casting technique. The aluminium alloy Al 7075 and reinforcement TiO2 and SiC are used to fabricate the hybrid composite. To accomplish this objective, the influence of process parameters such as stirrer speed, number of blades, reinforcement wt.% and mixing temperature on tensile strength and hardness has been investigated by using the Taguchi’s L9 orthogonal array (OA). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to observe the contribution of each process parameters on each response. Further grey relational analysis (GRA) is used as a multi-objective tool in order to achieve comprehensive improved tensile strength and hardness of the fabricated hybrid composite. Keywords - Al-7075/TiO2/SiC Hybrid Composite; Stir Casting Technique; Tensile Strength, Hardness, Grey-Taguchi Method.
