Abstract
This study assessed the concentrations of elements in different cosmetic products sold in Saudi markets. The tested cosmetic items included five eyeliners, three lipsticks, and two nail polishes of various brands, which were digested and analyzed for heavy metals (e.g., sodium, potassium, chromium, vanadium, manganese, nickel, arsenic, copper, zinc, lead, and antimony). Over 16 elements were identified by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). Most of the detected concentrations were found to be below allowable levels, but the lead and arsenic contents were high in some products. Keywords - Heavy Metals, ICP-MS, Health Hazard, Toxicity
