Abstract |
Metallurgical investigation plays a vital role in determining the microstructure and micro hardness of welded specimen. In this research work, there is an attempt to compare the microstructure of weld bead deposited using fresh flux, pure slag and recycled slag. Results revealed that recycled slag gives remarkable microstructure as that of flux whereas pure slag was unable to achieve the standards. Micro hardness tests performed shows that recycled slag had high hardness as compare to flux on the other hand pure slag was failed to reach prescribed limit of micro hardness.
