Abstract |
Weight, surface quality and dimension checking aspects of article (solid dosage) in the form of pills or capsules are discussed in this work. According to standard quality test prescribed by Indian pharmacopeia weight measurement aspect (for uniformity of weight) is integrated into the model designed in this work. In addition to a weight measurement, dimension verification is also required to avoid defective articles getting mixed up with the non-defective ones in the packing. The device proposed in this work measures the weight by a load cell and visual inspection by image processing at high speed using Programmable Logic Controller.
