Abstract |
Modern four stroke engines are used on large scale because the power to weight ratio and reliableness of four stroke engines are greater. The disadvantages of the four stroke engine are that there is excess amount of heat energy produced. This heat energy has been wasted through the walls of the container of the engine and ejected as the additional energy during the exhaust stroke of the cycle. To increase the efficiency of the 4 stroke engine there is need to develop a six stroke internal combustion engine which uses the heat energy for additional power stroke. So to raise the brake thermal efficiency of the engine, few of the fundamental changes have been performed in four stroke internal combustion engine. The changes are also made to reduce the pollution and for better scavenging. Key Words – Heat Energy, Scavenging, Brake Thermal Efficiency, Pollution | |||||||||
