Abstract
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was enacted in 1990 with the intent to forbid discrimination against individuals with disabilities. In 2008 the ADA was amended to expand its scope. Even today organizations in the US are struggling to comply with it and to understand what they are required to do under the law for employees with disabilities. The article is intended to enhance the understanding of ADA from the HR professional’s standpoint. In addition recommendations and conclusions are also provided for HR managers.
