Abstract
In this article, we examine the estimation of the labor productivity of Turkey’s Top 500 Industrial Enterprises. The relationship between “the labor productivity of enterprises” and “return on assets” is seen that it is not linear. Hence, the most common used smoothing methods which are local polynomial regression, penalized spline regression and smoothing spline are used to estimate the labor productivity. As a result of analyzing data, the smoothing spline is the most suitable method for the estimation of the labor productivity. Index terms- Local Polynomial Regression, Penalized Spline Regression, Smoothing Spline
