Abstract |
The paper focuses on Chinese state capitalism with respect to the situation in the automotive sector. The paper is divided into two basic parts. The first section looks into the system of state capitalism, examining and defining its main systemic elements. Based on this, the paper provides definition of state-capitalist system that is valid for Chinese economy, thus serving as a framework for the following part of the paper. The second part of the paper then analyses automotive sector as one of the key elements of the national economy. It focuses on Chinese automotive sector and the government interventions as indicators of state capitalism. Consequently, the paper evaluates the efficiency of the automotive industry in China and respective government interventions.
