Abstract
The main objective of this research was to explore the consequences of talent management on academic staff with reference to their satisfaction with talent management practices and turnover intentions. A quantitative research approach was followed with Talent Management questionnaires distributed to academic staff in South African higher education institutions (N=146). The results showed that academic experience a higher level of talent constraints compared to talent enablers. Signification relationships were found between Talent constraints, Talent Enablers, Satisfaction with institutional practices and funding and Turnover intentions of academic staff. Recommendations are made. Index terms- Academics, Higher Education, Talent Management, Turnover intentions
