Abstract
The main objective of this paper was to investigate academic staff perceptions of a blended learning approach in a selected higher education institution. A mixed method research approach was followed with data gathered from 171 lecturers from a selected higher education institution. The results showed that lecturers perceived training in blended learning approaches as positive. However, many challenges were identified that can limit the effective implementation of blended learning such as resistance to change, lack of infrastructure, lack of management support and lack of computer literacy skills. Recommendations are made. Indexterms- Academics, Blended Learning, Higher Education, Students, Teaching.
