Abstract |
Lean principles naturally fit some processes which are called Lean stereotype that is customer-focused manufacturing for discrete parts with stable product demand. For the other processes the applicability of Lean concepts and tools might wane. In this study, the applicability of the lean thinking to municipal service systems and providing benefits are investigated. For this purpose, in Osmangazi Municipality/ Bursa/ Turkey, wastes have been identified with using lean tools and techniques. One of these techniques is the value stream mapping. Thereafter improvements have been proposed with obtaining data through eliminating waste resources. Applications of these improvements have been evaluated. | |||||||||
