Abstract
This study aimed to determine bank performance based on their ownership status in Indonesia. Ownership is divided into government-owned banks, domestic private banks, and foreign banks. Bank performance observed were performance in terms of profitability, credit quality, liquidity, and earning asset quality. This study examined whether there are performance differences between government-owned banks, domestic private banks, and foreign-owned banks. The results showed that government-owned banks have the most superior performance in terms of profitability than domestic private-owned and foreign-owned banks. In terms of credit quality, the three categories of banks do not have differences. In terms of liquidity and quality of earning asset, foreign-owned banks are superior to government-owned and domestic privateowned banks.
