Abstract |
Starting in 2024, Hong Kong's human rights education curriculum covers the brand new subject of Civic and Social Development. In the past decade, the failure of Liberal Studies has hurt Hong Kong citizens, especially young students, deeply. Human rights education in Hong Kong remains ambiguous. By comparing with the successful human rights education experience of Macao, the problem is solved through educational legislation and pedagogical reforms. This article is divided into the following five sections, introduction, human rights education in the perspective of international law, review and issues of human rights education in Hong Kong, comparison and discussion between Hong Kong and Macao, and recommendation for the future of human rights education in Hong Kong. Keywords - Hong Kong, Macao, Human Rights Education, Liberal Studies, Civic and Social Development, Character and Citizenship | |||||||||
