Abstract |
Chandrakeshar dam is constructed on the river Chandrakeshar, a tributary of river Naramada. It is an old reservoir established in 1972 for the irrigation purpose to nearby villages. Present study carried out from Jan 2017 to Dec 2018 and specimens were collected from the sites brought into laboratory for further Identification. which reveals that the Malacofauna of this reservoir belonging to 2 classes named Gastropda and Pelecypoda (Bivalvia) and 05 genera were recorded. This study indicates abundance and biodiversity of malacofauna which plays key role in the food chain between aquatic to terrestrial Animals.
