Abstract
This is the first-year result of a two-year study sponsored by the National Science and Technology Council in Taiwan. The study aimed to create two types of interactive play for young children in parent-child pavilion using the Kinect somatosensory device and touch interactive device. The children learned six core literacy abilities through 36 interactive games with three difficulty levels each. The study found that somatosensory games have a better learning effect compared to touch-based games. The study also found that the perceptual recognition ability has a significant positive correlation with reasoning and appreciation, caring and cooperation, and independent management under somatosensory interaction. The study developed a database to record each child's performance and an AI parent-child center was verified. The follow-up research next year will focus on developing a recommendation system to provide each child with an appropriate difficulty level for maximum achievement.
