Abstract
Abstract - This study aims to investigate the influences of outdoor education on elementary school students’ perceptions of creativity. There were 42 elementary school students in Taiwan (25 males; 17 females; average age = 11.6 years old) who participated and were divided into control and experimental groups. The control group adopted traditional indoor teaching, while the experimental group adopted outdoor education. These two groups were taught the same content about science for four weeks. The participants were asked to complete the “Student Awareness Self-Assessment Scale” and “Student Skill Self-Assessment Scale” before and after the course. The research results show that outdoor education has clear and positive effects on students’ creative development. This encourages teachers to be more active in using outdoor education in schools.
