Abstract |
Abstract - This study wants to understand the relationships between school resources and school quality across score distribution. The national test or the Ordinary National Education Test (O-NET) is used to measure school quality. It found that government subsidy is a crucial part of school quality. The top-up funding for small schools is insufficient for lower school budget, especially for high quality schools.Meanwhile, teacher expense per student does not reflect the school performance. Hence, I suggest that the government provide more top-up funding for small schools to ensure a minimum level of required resources. Creating a link between teacher salaries and school quality will encourage teachers to improve school quality. Lastly, administrative employee recruitment will reduce teachers’ workload outside the classroom. Keywords - School Quality, O-NET, First Differences Regression, School Resources | |||||||||
