Abstract |
Abstract - In the Northeastern parts of India, Tripura state is known for its horticulture crops in the country. The state has excellent climatic conditions with good soil fertility suitable for the growth of fruits like queen pineapple, lemon, jack fruits, litchi, guava, orange, banana, etc. Over the last two decades, growth in the area and production of horticultural fruits have increased and produced a huge result. Fruits like queen pineapple, lemon, and jack fruits have been traded internationally and nationally due to their unique flavors. The study highlighted the growth in area and production of fruits with a positive growth trend in the entire state. The area which was 45,548 hectares in 2005-2006 has increased to 62,191 hectares in 2019-2020, and the production also increased from 5,27,988 metric tons to 5,46,423 metric tons from 2005 to 2020.
