Abstract
This paper lays down the experiences of young OBC women, who are in universities in the capital city of India. They are a minority among the majority of dominant caste students. This paper, attempts to trace their family trajectories and their trials and tribulations of actually reaching where they are today. This research has been done in two educational institutions of Delhi, Delhi University and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University. It looks at the generational influences in being able to get into higher education, ideas of discrimination and the influence of peer group and faculty in retaining students from this background.
