Abstract |
Management is facing a number of issues relating to global growth, technological advancements, an educated workforce who want a better work-life balance, to name but a few. The impact of a lack of human resource is discussed with the aim of providing short-term solutions. Either in readjustment of individual skills or through the proposition of new methods and/or working practices to address any shortfall. However it is conjectured that it is now time to take a more long-term, strategic view in resolving the ever increasing talent shortages through a sustained, strategic approach of embedding skills development within extant educational programmes. Keywords: Technology management; strategic talent management; creative thinkers; academic studies; securing future skills. | |||||||||
