Abstract
Toddlers like and grow up magically with the nursery rhymes provided they are appropriately selected . Importance of nursery rhymes could be attributed to various reasons including linguistic, cognitive, affective, and cultural ones. However, because many rhymes were created more than a hundred years ago, care should be exercised when choosing the rhymes to be used in teaching modern-day children. Present research article argues for and develops criteria that can help teachers of young and very young learners (toddlers) select the rhymes suitable for language instruction in terms of their content, accompanying illustrations and language. Further, the mix of inter-relationships have been studied using ISM model. Keywords - Lullabies, Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, ISM Methodology, Rhyme Content
