Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study about the factors affecting the students’ decisions to study for bachelor’s degree and to examine the curriculum factors that affecting the students’ decisions to study for bachelor’s degree at the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University: The Case Study of Grade 6 Students in Dusit District, Bangkok. The findings indicated that curriculum, personnel interest, the popularity of the university, and economic situation were the main factors.This is consistent with the Kaniknun Photchong(2561) studied the research. Factors Affecting Enrollment Decision in Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. The university found that the Board of Humanities and Social Plan has set a goal of getting students. Strategy is good publicity. Courses diverse needs of students. Readiness Management The availability of personnel resources to be used in the management of education. The location and physical environment. Such factors are important in attracting students to study in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The results of the study showed that. 1. Most of the respondents were 171 female students at 57.00 percent and 129 male students at 43.00 percent. There were 178 students studying in grade 6 at 59.4 percent, followed by 70 people studying for high vocational certificate at 23.30 percent, and 52 students were studying for vocational certificate at 17.30 percent. 86 students had grade point average between 3.01 to 3.50 at 28.7 percent, followed by 75 students who got more than 3.51 grade point average at 25.00 percent, and 59 students who got the grade point average between 2.51 to 2.80 at 19.70 percent. 89 students got the family income between 10,000 to 20,000 baht per month at 29.70 percent, followed by 83 students who got their family income between 20,001 to 25,000 baht per month at 27.70 percent, and 42 students who got their family income lower than 10,00 baht per month at 14.00 percent respectively. 2. Factor that most affected the students’ decisions to study for bachelor’s degree at the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in the agree level was the curriculum with the average of 4.12. The factor was split up into the courses were modern and up to date with the most average of 4.19, followed by there was standard Quality Assurance of 4.14, the courses met the needs of the labor market at 4.13, the courses were popular at 4.10, and there was quota admission or Entrance admission at 4.06. The factor about interest and personal reasonwas in the agree level with the average of 3.61. The factor was split up into the student’s best friend chose this university with the average high level at 4.52, followed by the student’s idol was the alumni of this university at 4.51, their parent’s suggestion at 3.09, their advisor’s suggestion at 3.02, and their senior’s suggestion at 2.93. The factor about the popularity of the university was in the agree level with the average of 3.60. The factor was split up into the modern university with the most average of 4.52, followed by the first ranking university at 4.21, the famous university that was accepted by the society at 3.37, the reputation of the board of directors and lecturers at 3.13, and the qualified graduates which were acknowledged by both public and private sectors at 2.73. The factor abouteconomic situationwas in the agree level with the average of 3.62. The factor was split up into modern facilities in the university at the average of 4.43, followed by the scholarship the university gave at 4.32, inexpensive expenses in studying at 2.23, the policy about the tuition fee at 3.18, and the reasonable tuition fee at 2.92.The findings of the research showed that the overall factors affecting the students’ decisions to study for bachelor’s degree at the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University was at agree level with 3.73.
