Abstract |
The paper examines the sustainability performance of 32 companies listed in the FTSE /JSE responsible investment Top 30 Index. The study uses CSR ratings retrieved from the CSR Hub as proxy for sustainability performance. The CSR Hub rates sustainability performance based on four dimensions which are; Community, Employees, Environment and Governance (CSR Hub 2018). Highly regulated companies may outperform least regulated companies as far as sustainability is concerned.
