Abstract
This research paper investigates the interaction between top management support and project success. Top management support has generally been considered an important critical factor for the success of Information System projects and is an area that has high impact on project success. However, previous studies have shown that senior management in the IT sector are not aware of this and as a result, pay more attention to conventional technical and project management critical success factors that have a low impact on project success than previously thought. It provides evidence that top management support is the most important critical success factor for IT projects and is not just one of the factors. The findings are proven via investigating project management literature and the critical success factors on Information Systems project success.
