Abstract |
This paper aim is to examine the propaganda presented in the posters of two colonial travel companies to find what type of stereotypes were imposed on the inhabitant of the Mediterranean, and how these visual tactics drew a line between “us and them.”We followed a qualitative semiotic analysis to show conflicting opinions and resolved issues regarding meanings of concepts, procedures and interaction. The findings have the aim of encouraging designers to be more responsible with the use of design elements especially the designers who follow trends and what is common.
