Knowing the historical vestiges of ethnic diversity in the tourist destinations is crucial and beneficial to creating value narratives for the community tourism in Trat. From the historical perspective, this study investigated the traces of diverse ethnic groups who migrated from other provinces of Thailand and its neighboring countries to settle in Trat for several reasons. It was evident that the traces of diverse ethnicities in Trat were Chong and Kajong who were the nativetribes, trade with Chinese merchants, war-fled immigrants caused by the border dispute etc. These facts have a great impact for promoting tourism in Tratas long as the party concerned could create positive narratives which affect good feelings of people in the diverse communities and relationship between Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
