Abstract
Banking sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in India. Sound financial health of a bank is the guarantee not only to its depositors but is equally significant for the shareholders, employees and whole economy of a country as well. In this study, efforts have been made to measure the financial position of top two major banks operating in India and manage it efficiently and effectively. In the study, one public sector bank namely State Bank of India and one private sector Banks namely ICICI Bank has been selected as a sample. This evaluation has been done by using CAMEL Parameters, the latest model of financial analysis for the five years from 2012-13 to 2016-17. To study every major variable use of various ratios have been made which helps to analyse the variable in better way.
