Abstract
According to the poverty line method, there are significant differences between rural and urban poverty indicators in our country during the period between 2002 and 2014. The problem of poverty in rural areas is more prevalent than in urban areas. When the figures are examined as urban-rural, it is seen that these figures are much higher in the rural. So we can say that agriculture can play an important role in reducing poverty. Achieving agricultural growth by applying new technologies is one of the most important ways to reduce rural poverty. The impact of such efforts on the rural poor, however, depends on initial conditions, the structure of relevant institutions, and incentives. Keywords - Poverty, Poverty Alleviation, Poverty in Turkey.
