Abstract
This study was designed to investigate the impact of rural projects on job creation in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Five research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. A well-structured multiple-choice questionnaire was used to collect relevant data from a random sample of 392 respondents in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. The data collected were analyzed using the descriptive statistics. Also, the formulated hypotheses were tested by means of correlation analysis statistical technique. Findings from the analysis revealed that rural development projects do have significant impact on job creation and thus asserts that rural projects directly or indirectly make room for creation of jobs. Therefore an effective program of action and an appropriate institutional arrangement for the execution of projects should be put in place so as to ensure successful project delivery.
