Abstract |
Power system widely uses the Gas Insulated Substation and it has been experienced that fast switching operations generates Very Fast Transients Overvoltage’s which have a very short rise time of 50ns and is usually accompanied by high frequency oscillation. In this paper the hybrid modeling of a power transformer, which is based on travelling wave theory, is being explained Further this paper deals with the modeling and simulation of a Power transformer, having a disk type winding. Simulation work is done in MATLAB to find inter-turn and inter-disk voltages. In the modeling of transformer the frequency dependent losses are also taken into account because their effect become more prominent at higher frequency ranges. | |||||||||
