Abstract
In this paper, simulation result and analysis of Ge on Si p-i-n photodetector with step-chirped Bragg grating is represented. Lumerical software with FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) solutions is used for simulation. Simulation performance is analyzed in terms of grating period, light absorption efficiency, and absorption length. Light absorption efficiency increment of12.21% at 1.55 μmwas achievedwith 12-μm long absorption length.
