Abstract
This paper proposes a synchrophasor-based scheme forpower system voltage stability protection and control. In order to reduce the risk of voltage collapse, the proposed method uses real-time and synchronized data from wide area measurement system (WAMS) to monitor and control power system voltage stability. Since voltage stability is affected by the load characteristics, the composite ZIP load model is used in this study. An extensive simulation studies on the IEEE 9- bus system is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Keywords— Voltage Stability Margin, Voltage Stability Control, Wide Area Measurement System, Synchrophasor.
