Abstract
The two Key issues are considered in the present paper that is Minimization of real power loss and Maximization of voltage stability Limit (VSL) of Power system network. Optimal location and parameters of UPFC along with transformer taps are tuned with a view to simultaneously optimize the real power losses and voltage stability limit of interconnected transmission network. This issue is formulated as multi-objective, multivariable problem with an objective function incorporating both real power losses and voltage stability limit(VSL) and the UPFC location, its injected voltage and transformer tap positions are as the multi-variables. The Biologically inspired Evolutionary algorithm Known as Bactria foraging algorithm is proposed in this paper for solving the multi-objective multivariable problem. The Proposed algorithm is tested on IEEE 39 bus power system for optimal location of UPFC and the results are presented.
