Abstract
This paper presents a CMOS based RF Mixer for 5G Devices with frequency 3.5GHz.We have designed a single balanced active mixer that has a low noise figure (NF) and high gain in the 5G wirelsss operating frequency of 3.5GHz. A three-port RF and microwave mixer is used to combine two RF signals applied to the mixer's input ports and generate new RF signals at the third port at the frequency that is the sum or difference of the provided RF signals to the mixer. RF frequencies, which are the combination of harmonics of the signal fed to the mixer, is generated in RF mixers in addition to the required signals. The design is evaluated using simulations in industry standard Cadence platform in 130nm CMOS technology, achieving a gain of over 5dB throughout the RF bandwidth, P1dB linearity of 20dBm, and IIP3 of 2dBm and noise figure of 25dB.
