Abstract
Abstract - This paper presents a software and hardware solution for Battery Management System of the drone in the extreme weather condition i.e. - 20 Degrees Celsius. Lithium ion or Lithium polymer batteries, which have high energy density, high volume density, low self-discharge, and high efficiency, are the most common kind of batteries used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). However, because of their high energy carrying capacity, they tend to be more dangerous than other batteries, such as lead-acid batteries, and as a result, they require thorough monitoring to ensure that they are operating within their set safe operating limits; failure to do so may outcome in fire risks and outbursts. Also adding to this the major problem while charging the battery is the charge imbalance and temperature difference in cells of the battery pack. This necessitates the adoption of a modern (BMS) that will not only optimize power tension from the batteries but also keep them operating within safe limits, protecting the users. This study paper explores the key elements that are crucial for creating an efficient BMS. It begins with battery modeling using passive components. Additionally, a hardware solution for the battery thermal management system is provided, allowing for a better knowledge of how a BMS operates. Keywords - Battery Management System (BMS), Electric Vehicle (EV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Internal Resistance (IR), State of Charge (SoC).
