Abstract
Abstract - With the rise in usage of smart products by more number of people, the world is driving towards the increase in adoption of smart IoT systems like smart homes, smart cities, smart industries, smart transportation, etc. In general there will be more usage of smart products in coming future. Security of any IoT system is a matter of high concern. As the IoT technology is enrooting, there is a major concern for the safety and security of these smart IoT systems. So here in this paper we proposed a novel hybrid user authentication scheme for IoT systems using Electroencephalography (EEG) signal pattern recognition and Iris pattern recognition. There are electrodes for capturing the EEG signal pattern and iris scanner to capture the Iris pattern of the user. Both EEG signal pattern and Iris pattern is used for user authentication. It is a novel two-step authentication scheme using two different biometric authentication methods. Keywords - Biometric, Electroencephalography (EEG) signals, Iris scanner, IoT security, Authentication.
